Hugh, Re:More importantly - I am not seeing the same kind of momentum with Intel technology development

Intel announce nothing doesn't mean they are standing
still. Remembered a company called Exponential(?) which
said they had some kind of breakthrough which would make
all existing CPU maker look pale ? Byte magazine even
had an issue talking all about these. Where are they now ?

I am not saying IBM is in the same league. However, until
I see the real thing, I would simply ignore any of these
so called breakthrough(including anything from Intel).

Let Intel's management worry about these things. Just sit
back and relax.

Gary

Hugh, the key is commercializing the technology, not just developing it. Intel's past record in this regard is excellent, IBM's is spotty at best.

Hugh, If MSFT was smart they would "dust of NT for PPC"

Xeon/Merced will be tough to compete with for Windows NT. Remember MIPS, they were suppose to destroy Intel. Well you don't here much about that anymore.

Is anyone shorting this stock? Have never played that game - feel quite good about experimenting with Intel. Any advice would be appreciated.

There have been a few short sellers. Go ahead and short it.

Here's some advice.

Never stand in front of a freight train.
