If you were actually concerned about leadership and stock market reaction then you should be calling on Clinton to resign.

I won't disagree with the leadership aspect yet - I'd need to see Gore in action ("Gore inaction?"). However, I'm pretty sure the markets will see a President Gore, even interim, as extremely bearish.

Longer term, of course, the markets will react positively to any Democratic defeat. The welfare state and national prosperity are diametrically opposed.
