Tony. This whole situation of the market is one big mess today. I reported on what Ralph Acamporo(I was so mad that I forgot how he spelled his name) said today and almost every analyst and the crew on CNBC mentioned that it was the Ralph Acamporo effect.

Now here comes the real great news. We saw almost every one of our CNBC guys and gals on the talk shows, I guess all NBC stations. Bill, Ron Insana, Alan Chernoff and Sue. On Equal Time, Chris Matthew show, NBC and I believe on MNBC. At least they stuck mostly to market analysis. Then comes Maria Bartiromo onto the Geraldo Rivera show on CNBC. I think it will be repeated at 12 pm EST. If you have time you will have to watch it. She gave this great political speech on why the market went down today. In her words mostly because of worry about the President's status. She said everyone wants the President to go on with the business of the country and nobody wants to see him impeached. I watched CNBC quite a bit and I did not hear that version today. Some mentioned it in passing but basically said it had not much to do with it at this time, more Asia etc. Of course it could evtl. matter. She now has moved from a Wall street reporter to a political guru. I think that was an outrageous thing for her to do on that show. You absolutely have to watch it. Rivera and her were discussing the possible outcome on Wall Street if things with Clinton don't get smoothed over and blah, blah.

They had this Democratic Strategist named Victor something on. He is always very personal against opponents and called Linda Tripp "an old frustrated woman". Arianna Huffington asked him to take that sexist statement back and wanted to know what constitutes an old woman. She asked him if 45 was in the ball park. Anyhow, you just got to see it. Actually, it could come on at 9 on the West Coast.
Maria Bartiromo looked very comfortable in her new position. I think that WE can talk about this but she in her capacity should not be quite that outspoken in her views on talk shows. I would like to poll the people who supposedly told her all this. I did not hear any names. All that talk could be self full filling tomorrow morning. But I am with you. I think that 10% should do it. But after all the talks going on today, who knows.

BTW, they did have a cpl of analyst's on after I posted, who were also surprised how R.A. turned colors so fast. One analyst said it was a one man effect today: Ralph Acamporo. I would sure like to know if his firm got out of stocks before he made his comments.

Mad as H**l.

Again. I did see no news today which should have accounted for that market drop. Most earnings came in above expectations today. And Japan is looking into doing something about their situation. May not come to pass but normally mentioning it will give them the benefit of the doubt on Wall Street for a while. Unemployment came in a bit lower and the other data came in as expected. The Bond market was up and everything looked calm. There was no urgency for this sell off. The little guys evdtl. stayed put.
The market was up this morning and R.A. did say that he came to that conclusion this morning. I will review my tape on that statement just to be sure. I would not want to report wrong on this. I know I def. heard him say this morning somewhere in his comment. Maybe some got wind of it before he got onto CNBC and maybe that drove the market down late morning.
