Eric, given enough stocks in the average, over time they will do
about the same. If you prefer the S&P 500, fine. I don't see a whole
lot of difference among the DJIA, S&P 500 or NASDAQ. Witness:

(COMS) 27 5/16 +1 1/2: Gruntal & Co. reiterates "hold" rating on computer networking concern as stock fairly valued and still waiting for management to reveal large enterprise story; while company's v.90 modem sales are up and 3Com also doing well with Palm Computing, listening to meeting, one would be hard pressed to know that 3Com has a large enterprise story at all; little discussion on this topic, although CEO Eric Benhamou noted that the company would not sell big routers; suspects that switches may be next...
