Time to buy 3Com (COMS)? Hey, if disk drive and chip equipment stocks are being considered bargains at current levels, why not COMS... Company's inventory problems largely behind it and new products offer hope... If market tone improves, stock could easily trend back toward 30-32 range over next few months. Also from Briefing.com

Eric, I think Cisco dominates the large enterprise market. It will be very positive for 3com if it can compete with Cisco in the large enterprise. Regards, H.Wai

Expect the following technology stocks to be among Monday's most actively traded issues: American Software Inc. (AMSWA), Electronic Data Systems Inc. (EDS) and 3Com Corp. (COMS). 3Com Corp. (Nasdaq: COMS) Shares of the network equipment maker rose 1 7/8, or 7 percent, to 27 11/16 Friday after the company told analysts it will continue to focus on serving small- and medium-sized businesses. The company spoke to analysts at a networking industry conference. Last quarter, 3Com earned $63 million, or 17 cents a share, on sales of $1.1 billion. In the first quarter of 1997, it lost $51 million, or 15 cents a share, on sales of $1.5 billion. 3Com shares were trading at 56 _ in October before falling all the way to 22 15/16 in June. zdii.com
