From that same article it says that over 60% of the Sub $1000 PCs are AMD and Cyrix based while 38% of the total retail PC market is now AMD and Cyrix based...UP from 5% A YEAR AGO...! The July numbers will even be worse for Intel. No wonder Intel moved up the date of the Celeron A release. Let's hope haste doesn't mean bugs. Jim

It's Compaq, IBM and HP that are backing their products, not Intel. <Sargent, (the ZD analyst), agreed, saying a "huge number of people don't know - or don't care" about the brand of processor inside the computer. "They are more interested in the brand of the computer system than in the chip," he said. "Intel should definitely be concerned about this.">
