Paul, So they can add that to the OS/2, AIX, TopVIEW and other OS successes they have had? That was my reaction also. You think they would have learned with OS/2. Dale

Paul, I have been reading about this Java hype now for about two years. Do you know of any instances where Java (Script, OS, programming language, anything) has been successfully implemented in a game (where it is packaged and makes money), business application, or anything that is more than a demo of dancing bears on a web page. I know for instance that none of the National Laboratories or defense agencies will allow any foreign Java Objects entry into any of their systems. For some strange reason, I believe this whole Java business is pure hype. It is too complicated for any normal people to use. By normal, I mean people that work in a business environment where profits are sought. I don't mean people who fool around in Universities and do pure R&D. Maybe I should ask this of Tony Viola. Tony, if you are reading this, do you personally know of, or know anyone that has personal knowledge, of Java (anything) implemented in a critical business environment? Little appellates (sp?) don't count. For that matter, I would like to hear from anyone who has personal knowledge of any reasonably significant Java success in a real world environment. Mary
