Joe, Eric B. was very warmly received. I think people were very honored that he took the time to speak to them personally vs. the video conference mode they were used to. He was originally slated for only 45 minutes but took questions for over an hour and stayed at least 20 minutes more afterwards to talk to people (like me!.. I found him to be quite personable and savvy.)

As to your question concerning do 3com people care about the stock market...emphatic YES! In fact, Eric started off the questioning session with, "If I were you, the first question I'd ask me is why is 3Com stock so low!?" He received a thunderous ovation! So I take it people have noticed.

As I said on an earlier post, and it's still true today, moral is getting better. That is due to 2 main reasons.

1. The USRX people who were bitter about the merger left.
2. The USRX people who were bitter about the merger accepted the change.

The people who are left are genuinely excited about the future of coms. Eric's visit was well timed and well received. Of course, you have some people who didn't believe a word he said concerning not being for sale. In fact, some of my sources were saying that the reason why he's visiting Redmond to visit Gates was to sell to MSFT. Though, wishful thinking given coms current price, I believe you'll hit your golden 100 price before that will happen. IMHO of course.

Thanks again for sticking up for us longs. I'll try to help out every now and then.

Regards,

3Com Boy!

3Com employees have a reason to be interested...

Joe wonders to 3ComBoy, "Do many people care about what 3Com is doing in the stock market? ... I know where I work, people have 401Ks and some company stock but have no clue if the market dropped 5% or not."

One reason that 3Com employees pay more attention than at some other companies is that EVERY 3Com employee has some options... they are part of the hire-in package. When USRX was bought, they included those employees in this package, so every "heritage USRX" 3Com employee has options... and is very aware just how worthless they are right now.

The pre-earnings trading hold for 3Com employees begins August 15th.
