What is the hold up one the ECU decision of how much gold to hold? Wasn't the decision supposed to be made back in May? Is the delay so that they can continue to sell gold? What did Frank V learn on his trip to Europe? I haven't seen his knowledge posted, or did I miss it? Basically what is the hold up on the European Community decision on gold?

Mike,
Very few people know of, or remember, Hashimoto's remarks. Your are very correct. That is exactly what he said they would do, but hinted he did not want to. Japan is getting less and less respect to the point of being mocked. The West is putting them in a hari kari position or strike. I think you are on to something. In this day and age why commit hari kari - just shoot your antagonist by selling the very think that keeps him going - our low interest rates. Low in the sense that without their support and the strength that gives our very, very vulnerable dollar - look out.
Yes, we have been warned just as their were some warning signs about Japan's aggressivness before Pearl Harbor.
