my long term view of the market is :

assuming we hold up and dont crash in the next few weeks, I see the mkt remaining flat for the next 2-5 months.

i think bobby has hit upon a great idea.. to tweak my system to work in a non-bullish mkt (ex. shorter time frames). i doubt i will make money in a bear mkt going long (just guessing, i've never been in one), but maybe i can make money in a flat mkt.

we will see. should be interesting.

Hi Margaret,

couple points (all my opinions):

1) if this mkt had an strong rally, i would play the msft,ge,lu,dell, etc. but it hasnt gone up like i wanted. until then, i wouldn't do anything.

2) TA not working due to the big boys: i think that is only evident with the INTRADAY. you bet, there a lot of volatility due to those issues. But looking at a longer view (1-5 day view), TA has worked well. In my opinion, by looking at stocks too short of a time frame, you lose the overall trend of the stock. (similar to a painter standing back to view the overall portrait from far away vs. upclose to see the individual stroke marks)

As i am typing, the techs are moving higher.. that's a good sign.

i think we've reached some sort of a bottom for the moment. remember, we are breaking some major resistance areas if we close higher today. --- refer to my stats posts.

so i think the mkt is not doing that bad.. we just need this oversold rally to get started..
