The biggies and to a lesser extent the 2nd tier companies were all up today, yes. But we can't be premature here. Watch for follow-through buying in the days to come to confirm that an uptrend may be in place. I still think alot depends on what Morgan at AMAT has to say next week, especially with respect to visibility in ASIA. I understand DRAM memory prices are moving up slowly and INTC is reporting a shortage in some supply in some model processors. CPQ inventory down to 2 weeks. Business and back to school demand gearing up. In short, some good bits of positive information BUT Asia still the wild card. Also Obuchi speech coming up Friday (tonight) in Japan, where he reveals specifics of reforms, etc.
