ValueDude-

Did you hear how they lost the last two satellites???
Can you say "operator error". It had nothing to do
with any h/w problems. Just people problems...

At least it is good for the reliability issues...
just a few other glitches on the ground to work out.

LOL. Faber on CNBC reported that analyst sources on Iridium are saying that "due to software problems" the "call completion rate" on I* calls is only up to about 70-75% at this point. (!!!!) I* feels it must be at least 95% to initiate commercial service. Analysts feel the Sept 23 rollout date will therefore be missed. Company is sticking with it's date so far, says Faber.

Space switching is turning out to be a bit sticky, it would seem.

It seems to me the subtext is that a real fiasco is possible. What if they can't get that number improved much?????

Which wouldn't help we G* holders, at least initially, one little bit. :(( Though I suspect G* is much less likely to have those sort of problems, due to its brains on the ground design.

Your thoughts on this?

(I posted a similar message to someone else over on the G* thread.)
