John, what makes you think that CPQ's inventories aren't at 2 weeks? Second, why do you think the Analyst's don't understand price cuts, margins, etc. I'm sure they know how to analyze the numbers.

John, I just got back from Paris with my son and feel like I've been gone forever! I only learned of the market carnage earlier in the week the day after it happened as I was drinking my cafe au lait and nibbling on a croissant at an outdoor cafe near the Louvre. Wow, talk about dislocation! Anyway, it's great to get away, glad to be home and looking forward to the next few weeks. We're 8 full market days away from the DELL earnings report and should be seeing some upward price movement in the stock over this period.

I believe Patrick will be starting his earnings & split countdown fairly soon. Pat, in case you're reading this put me down for 50› and a 2:1 split.

You know that Renee guy used to work for one of our local TV stations as a reporter, wonder when he became a business 'expert'? I guess one doesn't need to be an expert on anything to be a reporter,I guess the only requirement is that one needs to look real pretty.<gg>
Nice guy though Renee, don't want to pick on him or anything.Oh don't watch CNBC no more, just watch ITN world report every night for 30 minutes, that and NBR for business both on Public TV.

John -
Compaq's inventory's had gone down from 6 weeks to TWO WEEKS!

Yea, CPQ themselves claim it went from 16 weeks to 3 1/2 weeks... maybe this Renee fellow is talking about a different time segment or market than the rest of us.

On the other hand, I'm pretty happy to see my hound out of the pound, and anything that helps is OK by me!!!
