I am ready and receptive to hear all good reasons why I am here. But one little thing concerns me, just for the sake of accuracy. A couple of times mention has been made about donating outdated computers to schools, libraries, etc.

Well, having had computers (obsessively, usually 3 at a time) since Radio Shack came out with Model 1 (many of you were playing with Tinkertoys back then), I've accumulated them by the dozens and found that not only can I rarely sell them but I can't get the schools to take them for the tax break. The schools I've been to don't want old computers. Haven't tried libraries.

I hope you're right on this because if schools ARE accepting pre-Pentiums, then the market for PINC is huge. (And I might try a garage sale.)

I'm trying to learn more, but help appreciated. Any good stuff that makes me feel good is accepted with open arms!

Thanks,
Raven

Retaylor,

There's nothing wrong with your argument that companies will need to upgrade/fix computers for Y2K.

But, most of them will be buying their software from the larger, better known software companies. There are many, many PC Y2K products. Just go to Yahoo and search on Y2K and PCs and see how many you find. Why should a company take a chance on an unknown like PINC when they can buy from a well established company?
