Michelle,
Did you vote for Clinton in the last election. If the answer is yes, then why?

A Different Look At Concealed Weapons Statistics

CONCEALED CARRY LAWS REDUCE CRIME Major crime fell dramatically in states which have legalized the carrying of concealed handguns, according to a comprehensive new study at the University of Chicago.

For the first time, researchers analyzed crime statistics for all 3,054 counties in the United Sates between 1977 and 1992, according to one of the authors of the unpublished study, Professor John Lott. After adjusting for a general fall in crime rates, the study found that:

In the 31 states that now have "concealed right to carry" laws, murders were down, on average, by 8.5 percent.

Rapes were down 5 percent and serious assaults by 7 percent.

In cities with populations of more than 250,000, murder rates dropped after the passage of such laws by an average of 13.5 percent.

According to the study, the fall in crime did not result from an increased use of guns, but from potential criminals avoiding confrontations. In fact, criminals apparently shifted to lower-risk offenses, since property crimes increased in those states. Other findings included:

The most dramatic falls in murder rates were in areas where the number of women carrying firearms was high.

The study found that for every woman who carries a concealed hand gun, the murder rate fell by three to four times more than it would have if one more man had carried a concealed gun.

If states with concealed handgun bans had allowed them in 1992, about 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes and more than 60,000 aggravated assaults would have been avoided.

In addition, the researchers found no evidence of an increase in accidental killings or suicides in states with concealed carry laws.

RENOUNCE HIS CITIZENSHIP? TOO BAD HE DIDN'T SUCCEED.

Nealz Nuze
22 July 1998 Neal Boortz

You probably won't hear about this one in the mainstream press, but the well-respected National Law Journal called it the "Decision of the Day!"

We're talking about federal appeals court decision in the case of Steven K. Berry vs. Sherman M. Funk, et.al, [Case No. 97-5257] See, I told you you haven't heard about this one.

I'll be brief. Berry is a former State Department officer. In 1992 he was called upon in his capacity to investigate whether or not Bill Clinton had ever tried to renounce his US Citizenship. During the course of his inquiry it was determined that Clinton's State Department passport files had been tampered with.

To make a long story short .... Berry said that his telephone calls were monitored during the time he was trying to get information about Clinton's activities. That, according to Berry, was a violation of federal wiretap laws. On July 14, 1998, the United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit reinstated Berry's claim for damages.

Click here to read the Appeals Court decision. I think you'll find it interesting.

If It Walks Like a Socialist and Talks Like a Socialist It's a . Democrat?

Columnist Challenges Dems to Fess Up to Socialism

What's In A Name? In the new issue of Rising Tide magazine, Hungarian-born author and Washington Times columnist Balint Vazsonyi (BAH-lint VAH-zhon-yee) argues that the Democrat party has cozy ties with European socialism. Sure, most Democrats prefer not to call themselves socialists. They like terms like "liberal" or, better yet, "progressive." But Vazsonyi - who lived under both the Nazis (who called themselves "National Socialists") and the Communists (who called themselves "scientific socialists") recognizes the Democrats' doctrine for what it is - a European import totally at odds with the core principles of America's Founders. EXAMPLES: Vazsonyi says today's Democrat "confuses rights with entitlements, prefers `social justice' to the rule of law and advocates multiculturalism rather than our common American nationality."

Theme For Mid-term Elections? Respected conservatives lauded Vazsonyi's common-sense piece. Former Attorney General Ed Meese says "Republicans would do well to make these principles their legislative guide points and their theme for November." LISTENER Q'N'A'S: Will the Democrats among your listeners admit that they (secretly) favor socialism? Do they know the difference between a "right" (American) and an "entitlement" (socialist)? Do they understand why the American concept of "the rule of law" is in conflict with the socialist notion of "social justice"? Do they realize that the ideal of a "common American identity" is under attack by the (socialist) doctrine of "multiculturalism"? PUT `EM IN THE HOT SEAT: Want Vazsonyi or the magazine's editor as a guest on your show? Want a copy of the new issue of Rising Tide magazine snail-mailed to you, or better yet, a fax of Vazsonyi's cover story? Call the RNC Radio Hotline: 202 863 8550.
