When I talked to the reporter who wrote the story he indicated to me that the "public affairs office of the SEC" had furnished the information. I pressed the issue regarding where such an office could be reached as I have numerous times called and written the SEC regarding Solv-ex. Each time I have received the "SEC does not comment as to existence of a investigation". He indicated that the SEC had told him that they wanted this information made available to the public with no further comment (on his part).

This is one of the more bizarre of the accusations against Solv-ex as the court documents indicate (in the SEC complaint) that the shares were requested (from the transfer agent) but never issued. Bankruptcy filings support these not being issued.

Why the SEC would furnish partial information to a reporter when the court documents were not publicly available can only be speculated on.
