instead of paying twice as much for the 333, you'd be better off upgrading something else (e.g. memory)

Craig,

That paradigm is what keeps Intel in the black. A lot of people are willing to pay large price premiums for minimal performance increases.

Craig,

The 100Mhz bus does not help M2 so much as it does to K6. You won't be to tell the difference between the M2-250Mhz/83x3 and M2-250/100x2.5 to put both under works.

However, one thing is for sure that either of them is faster than a PII-338/75x4.5 for a regular PC user.

Craig,

IMHO, instead of paying twice as much for the 333, you'd be better off upgrading something else (e.g. memory).

You are assuming that the $164 price will stick. I think it will drop quickly to $100. You your choice will be $80 for M2-300 or $100 for M2-333.

Joe

PS: Is the 333 83x3 = 250MHz?
