-Big Pharma Report: 8/08/98 Have PFun! Big KNY3 _________________________________________ - For the week, Big Pharma (-3.2%) followed the Dow down (-3.2%). -This year's disappointment LLY (+1.4%) and recently beaten down MRK (+0.3%) were the only winners. -SBH (-6.8%) was the this weeks' big loser. PFE (-5.7%), BMY (-5.1%), WLA (-5.0%), GLX (-4.6%) and SGP (-3.9%) were all subjected to profit-taking. -YTD, Big Pharma (+24.4%) is almost tripling the Dow (+8.7%). -In the YTD race, the "Big 3" all slipped but still held their positions with #1 WLA (+73.0%) followed by SGP (+49.7%) and PFE (+38.8%). AHP (+34.6%) is closing fast on the outside based on its Monsanto deal. LLY (-2.1%) is trying to break even. Have PFun!
