Hello again,

The bible is actually not just one book it is 66 books written over
the span of 2000 years and each individual claims to have had contact with a Being who states He is the creator of all things. They all agree with each other and referr to one another. Places, times, events such as the crucifiction are historicaly proven and the odds of this occuring have been calculated in the trillions to one against.

Accepting the bible as true is an act of faith. Faith is something that we put into action every day just like when we brush our teeth hoping that the toothpaste hasn't been tampered with or the food we eat in restaurants.

Of itself the bible says in 1 Peter 2:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Living good productive lives is something that we should all try to do showing kindness to everyone (it doesn't appear to be happening does it?) However, according to the bible, regardless of what benevolent act for humanity anyone does it is not sufficient to get us into heaven.
It states clearly that there is one way and only one way that we can know here and now (not maybe) that when we die we will be going to heaven. Incidentally it has nothing to do with going to church or following traditions or the like, it all rests on an act of faith which we can either accept or deny.
