Rich,

I think one of the saddest aspects is how any current employees may view this. Will they be demoralized? "Pay For Performance" was an EDS motto in past years. I guess different rules apply to management. Why is that?

It was Alberthal and his cronies who wanted so desperately to be cut loose from GM. There were so many opportunities that could be realized as an independent company. So they get their "freedom" and we've seen a 40% reduction market cap (excluding Friday's positive reaction to his resignation). It's 2+ years later and virtually none of the "opportunities" has come to fruition. So clearly it makes sense to "reward" the guy who led the company so well during this "growth" period.

I bet CALPERS has mixed emotions. On the one hand Alberthal will soon be gone. On the other hand his leaving is having a material effect on next quarters earnings.
