Investor-ex!, Superb article. From the time of this post you'll be able to tell that it was one that I couldn't put down. Balanced, fair and it says much better than I have been able to put into words some of my thoughts on the problem. The underlying theme is one that I agree with: By the time forward thinkers have confirmation that they were right, it'll be too late to take action because Joe Sixpack will want to sell stocks/funds, make a withdrawal, buy some extra food, water, fuel etc. etc. etc. Chillingly, gary
