TER, KLAC, NVLS, VECO, and even a few of the smaller players (SFAM and BRKS) moved up along with AMAT the past few trading days. Trading volume was excellent (with exception, perhaps, of BRKS). It seems like many have placed themselves on the starting line in anticipation of a significant move upward in the entire sector. I think everything will depend on what Morgan says during the conference call. If he indicates that there is light at the end of the tunnel I think we are off to the races...However, I just don't think that will happen. I personally believe that we are least one quarter away from Morgan being able to make such a statement with any conviction.

Brian,

a few days ago you introduced me to the "close eyes" advance investment technique.

Message 5438138

I have been trying to do so. Then you confuse me by posting a number of articles. Am I supposed to read them? But if I read them, am I then opening my eyes?

Then you posted this link to "whatisnew" and highlighted 2 sentences. I read your link and realized your excerpt does not reflect the authors opinion.

I guess what you are trying to teach me is only look for the one or two words in every article which you happen to like and close my eyes to the rest. Right?

Seriously, Brian, your post was an all time low.

Ramsey

Brian,

RE -- More on the INTC "shortage":

It could be a great strategy of INTC -- they try to get back those lost shares of low end processors from AMD and NSM by increasing 'sub zero' parts, at same time temporarily decreasing hi end parts. or they try to help those big OEMs to get larger market shares from small basement pc builders by locating most high end parts available only to them. I don't see any pc prices going up her in Canada, actually the pc prices of CPQ, IBM, aser and nec are going down every week ( my 333mhz machine lost 1/3 value in 4 months).

though the 'shortage' could be good news for INTC, it's not necessary good news for semi equipment co.s. some more food for think:
