If the SEC comes back with a finding that the properties in question must be disclosed at their true cost basis or fair market value, that may only be (again example only) $5M to $15M, then I think he has a pretty severe credibility problem.

Disagree

The Sec has it's own ways of making such determinations, the fair market value is one thing. If the SEC insisted on it, then of course MTEI would have to use that value. Let's face it, it's the SEC's ball game.

But as an investor, I put my faith in an experienced oil/gas/coal man, to know the true value of resources located with in a certain property. Yes even experience requires confirmation by examination. We await those results. At this point, Jack in Texas, in my book, is in a much better position to know the true value of the land, resources wise, then some SEC yahoo* in Washington, DC.

SEXI isn't even a remote comparison to this situation. MM's paid by the company to commit illegal acts. Shame on anyone trying to draw a parallel.

My thoughts.
