CPQ Price Cuts.....

CPQ has announced pricecuts:

206.253.196.11

I could be wrong but it looks like these price cuts are following upon DELL's price cuts and may be necessary for CPQ to clear out its inventory pipeline in advance of the two biggest quarters of the year. Remember their pipeline is currently about 12-13 weeks if you include their internal inventory and their channel inventories. This works out to 3 months worth of inventory between CPQ and their end customers.

re: Sounds like a lot of BS to me. What are your sources (besides your imagination)?

This is not a cop out.
I don't remember,
But they also stated that CPQ is forgoing margins and profitabablity in an effort to hit DELL.
Oh yea, CPQ makes a lot of money on things other than PC's, especialy now that they have DEC's service business.
So that Billion $$ loss in not accurate.
