*AV*--For those of you around, I have a stock to discuss. But before I do, I want this known up front. I own 2000 shares at $10(IPO) and 4000 shares at $9, therefore I stand to benefit from any upswing in this price. With that said, there is an extremely thinly traded stock on the AMEX exchange called Standard Automotive Corp.(AJX). I had no idea when it went public that it would be thinly traded. I hesistated talking about it on this thread since it would be extremely easy to manipulate this stock. However, with the price as low as it is was today, those few of you that are reading this message have enough time to read the few news releases and earnings report on this company and make a decent speculative decision for next week or down the road. I think this has the makings of a good 10%er for the next week or so. This is an undervalued stock when compared to its industry competitors and general industry comparisons. The P/E seems to be 1/2 of those in its industry group and they are making decent money. The problem is that no one is following them, they have a poor PR firm, and no major analyst covers the stock. Eventually this will change. Undervalued and under followed and unknown in the market. A terrible combination. Picking away at this stock under $9.375 might be worthwhile for a play to 10.125 over the cource of the next week or two. But under $9 makes this very attractive. If it ever is discovered and given its due, this stock should rise to 2X its present price just to be in line with others in its industry group. I do not see any smoking guns or smokey mirrors here other than lack of interest. Running to this stock will definitely cause a rise in its price. You really do not want to do this. So if you see volume pick up, do not chase it. Understanding the company may convince you that it is a solid provider of products for the transportation sector. I would encourage you to read the SEC Prospectus filings for yourselves. IF (and it is a big IF) the power of the internet and SI can influence the price of stocks, the appearance of AJX here could cause a stir and price movement. I will not be posting this anywhere else so it will be for others to come here and discover. With more than our fair share of exposure to scam, spam, and hype, I feel awkward talking about this stock. However, there is enough concrete data out on the web that will explain what they are doing and how long they have been doing it. They do not have the promise of something monumental coming down the road and their future is not based on some as yet unspecified new product or device. True, they have a new waste disposal receptacle that shows promise but it is not a factor to consider. It is just gravy if it works and it certainly won't dominate their business. This is a solid consolidation of a few established companies under one roof trying to operate in a more cost effective manner and also trying to extend and expand their business to the West Coast where there is an interest for their products. BTW-At 1:40pm I decided it was too late in the day to have people scurrying around. I also was reminded of the late Friday afternoon hypes that allowed people to set up investors for the following Monday. Create a great deal of spam and hype over the weekend and POW, these same people sell into the frenzy on Monday. We have seen that happen before. You can also see that the volume was light today and you can even pinpoint all the trades that took place. As you can see, there were 500 share trades and one 1400 Sell (8.625) offset by a 1500 share buy(8.75). These were not my purchases or sales nor were the 500 share trades. You can go back 5 days on Big charts and see the number of trades and shares that traded hands. Judge for yourself how much pre-buying by scammers could have taken place prior to this post. I think you will see that there are no out of the ordinary trading events recently and that no one has loaded up prior to this discussion. With this said, we now have a unique situation. First, you have the recent earnings announcement to digest and then the SEC filings and news stories over this weekend. Second, you have an informed decision to make as to whether this company interests you. Third, you need to decide which category you want to place this stock in: Validated, Hype Job, or Con Artist Scam. Fourth, you need to decide when to invest if that is your decision. Fifth, you need to determine the ramifications of this message appearing here on Stock Swap. This Fifth item is what give me fits. Just using industry comparisons of P/E, I would say this stock is worth at least $15, a place it has never reached before(and possibly $18-$20). However, the power of the Internet WILL BE A FACTOR for this stock. By being so thinly traded, it does not matter that this stock is undervalued, unknown, and not followed by any analyst if this stock becomes interesting to the members of SI, Yahoo, etc. Enough interest could be generated to make this stock move just on the interest of this thread alone. For this reason I would caution anyone from chasing this stock. If you can get in at a repsectable price, do so. If not, pass on it because any volume/price increase may be coming at the expense of other members of this thread. You will only see this message here and nowhere else. If it is picked up by some well intentioned spammer or some unscupulous scammer, I cannot control that. I would think it would be attractive to both groups since it is straight forward and very easy to do due diligence on. Rallying around a decent stock is no different than hyping a scam or spam stock, so why not have everything above board. I am sharing an idea as best as I can and it is for each individual to consider carefully to see if it fits in with their personal investment strategies. The above stock is brought to your attention because I have been asked to research some decent stocks that trade in the $6-$12 range with potential for growth. I chose this one as the first to discuss. I also leave it to the individual to do the research themselves. The following list represents other stocks that are low enough today to make them just as attractive. I will try to provide information on some of them as time permits. These provide a rather inexpensive entry price with a good chance of returning some 5-15% or better returns. As we go through the list you might find something of interest to choose from. I have listed them in order of priority based on my gut feeling and information presently at hand. AJX is the pickof the group and that it why it got the first post.
