I bought 10k of TER today at the close and did the same with KLAC and NVLS. It's always tough to pull the trigger. Like you say, I think 12 to 18 months and I'll be looking at gains of 100%.

I am well aware of the downgraded outlook from last quarter's results.
All the other equipment stocks are in the same boat, so why is TER's
P/E so much lower than everyone else's in the sector?

Here is what I'm talking about:

STOCK PRICE P/E P/S

AMAT 33 11/16 19.1 2.55
KLAC 30 3/8 17.3 2.27
NVLS 40 5/16 17.8 2.19
TER 23 3/8 11.5 1.24

(Earnings and sales data as of July 31st; closing prices as of August 10th)

Bookings and near term outlook is crappy for all these companies, yet
as you can see, Teradyne is receiving way less valuation.

(And if anybody thinks I'm trying to talk this stock up, you're
right!)
