Thread,

Talked with Mr. Lau last night. Any Mita fears we might have are unfounded.

Mita operations in HK separate from Japan
Mita is current. A/R with Mita around 20% of total
Impression that Mita is 20-25%
Company policy is to stop shipment to any company not current
Higher receivables last few Qs have been a matter of timing with payments received and amount dropping shortly after the end of the Q, not a buildup on one or more accounts
Mita has been with them for 10 years, is a very good customer and should continue to be in the future
They met with Mita and were comfortable with the answers
Mita's 'protection' was worked out with the banks prior to the filing
Will not be issuing a PR concerning Mita as there's no reason to

Continued problems, but things going as well as can be expected considering the economic conditions

Mr. Lau very busy and I was fortunate that he talked with me. He's familiar with the thread and it's the only reason. He has not had the time to talk with others, particularly individual investors. There is minimal analyst coverage and we are basically it for Deswell.

IMO - The management of Deswell is excellent, the company prospects are good. Most of us have had paper losses but the reason we invested in Deswell are still there. The price is a market action, not a result of company performance.

Someone is buying and getting a real bargain at $12.50

FWIW,
Ron

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. The Mita situation is still fuzzy to me,even after reading the prior posts. In addition, the lack of liquidity in Deswell stock made me reduce my position in the stock about 6 weeks ago(I still have a long position).
