Some negative news regarding Viagra new scripts:

On the other hand for the week ending July 31, 1998 new Viagra scripts dropped tp 98,998. This was the first time that new Viagra scripts have fallen below 100,000 since its introduction in April of this year. New Viagra scripts were 113,134 during its first full week of nation wide availability for the week ending April 17.

Can this mean that the Viagra craze has finally ended? In only 3 short months we have gone from a peak of new Viagra scripts of 278,715 for the week ending May 8, 1998 to todays report of 98,998 for the week ending July 31, 1998. This comes out to a decline in new Viagra scripts of 65% in only 3 months.

Does this mean that American doctors have finally had a wake up call regarding the potential dangers of prescribing Viagra to their at risk patients? Is the refusal of many HMOs to cover costs of Viagra based purely on costs or are safety issues really a concern as some of the largest health providers in the nation have suggested? Were the remarks made by Dr. Fox regarding Pfizers rush to gain FDA approval without first taking a closer look at Viagra use in CVD patients just for fun or is this concern real? Why does neither Pfizer nor the FDA ignore the dangers of Viagra in the CDV patient and not relabel Viagra to warn of the potential risks that these patients face when using Viagra?

The saga continues. Stay tuned as the latest Viagra linked death count is soon to be reported some time this week. Is the FDA still watching these reports closely? Will they continue just watching or will they finally decide to take some sort of precautionary action requiring the relabeling of Viagra? Who is the FDA really looking out for?

VLAD,

Although I am frustrated over lack of news or PR regarding VVUS direction, the stock price has held up well last few months. Assuming one has been buying at 6ish.

Many other good stocks have traded down lately.

I am convinced strong support at this level.

Maybe this is what an analyst means when giving the 'accumulate Rating'
