Hello Chris; I wanted to extend our discussion about the twelve apostles and #13, the apostle to the Gentiles called Paul, who publicized his epistles before the Gospels were put down by the other apostles. I can imagine the pure Word of God being preached in those days by those that had walked and talked with our Lord, Jesus. Paul of course, did not know Jesus after the flesh and told us so, warning that in "his Gospel' that we did not follow Jesus after the flesh, but worshiped the Glorified Christ in truth and in Spirit. I personally do not believe that the twelve had any ministry to the Gentiles as I feel that you are trying to imply. Sure they, ay least some of them did preach to the Jews about Christ and the grace of God. Even Peter and Barnabus were led astray when around the Pharisees, preferring to go along with man made religion, rather than the pure word of Christ and grace. The Kingdom program and the Body Church program differ in that the promises made to the Kingdom Church are earthly and the promises made to the Body Church are heavenly. Paul's early ministery was first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles. I believe the evidence shows that Paul never preached the Kingdom gospel to the Jews. Why else was he always in trouble with them? Paul ,tells us in Galatians 2:1-2 he took Barnabas and Titus and went up to Jerusalem because of a revelation and submitted to the Kingdom apostles the gospel which I preached to the Gentiles. Paul says; " I did so privately to those who were of reputation for fear that I might be running, or had run in vain..'" Gal.2:6-10 But those who were of high reputation (who they were makes no difference to me; God shows no partiality )- well, those who were of reputation contributed nothing to me. But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised ( for He who effectually worked for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised effectually worked for me as to the Gentiles), and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, James, Cephas, and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we might go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. They only asked us to remember the poor_ the very thing I was eager to do. Does this sound like Paul and Barnabas were preaching and teaching the same message as the twelve? I think not. The Kingdom church still followed the Law of Moses, just as Christ had taught them to do. With one exception animal sacrefice is no longer needed.(EXAMPLE) Matthew 23:1-4 " Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples, saying, The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; therefore all they tell you, do and observe, but do not according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them. And they tie up heavy loads and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger. If Paul preached the same gospel as the Kingdom believers preached, then why would he have to explain his gospel to them . And why would they tell him to go to the Gentiles and they would stay with the circumcision. Paul is the only apostle that said, "Be imitators me just as I also am of Christ". 1Cor.11:1 Paul calls the gospel he preaches "my gospel" .Rom.2:16 , Rom16:25, 2 Tim. 2:8 Acts 1:8 His language alone should tells us that there is a difference in what he preaches and what the twelve preached. We should stop trying to explain away " REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN". That is exactly what it meant to the Jews . The six commissions found in: Matthew 10:5-7, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, Luke 24:45-48, John 20:21-23 and Acts 1:8 These are impossible commissions in this dispensation of grace but, they will be carried out in Israel's final week, the tribulation. Also they are not ment to be carried out in this dispensation of grace, these are Jewish commissions just as the Law is Jewish. Read each of the six commissions listed above and tell me which part or parts you will follow. Matthew 10:5 tells you not to go to the Gentiles. In Acts 28 :28 the Jewish nation was set aside, they are the same as the Gentiles and are no longer under the Kingdom program. Matthew 28:20. What did Jesus teach them to observe ? Would you believe the Law of Moses ? Christ was born under the Law and followed it to the letter, His apostles and diciples did the same. Mark 16:18 Try this one any part of it. Luke 24:49 Don't forget to wait in Jerusalem. John 20:23 I don't think Christ has given this power to us in the dispensation of grace. Or has the Roman Catholic church been right all a long? Acts 1:8 Gives the order in which this commission will be carried out, but man has twisted God's Word to fit himself confussing the words of God. Now tell me who picks and chooses. Acts 28:27-29 For the heart of this people has become dull and with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts and return, and I should heal them. 28. "Let it be known to you therefore, that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen". And when he had said these words, the Jews departed and had a great dispute among themselves. Did the twelve preach the Gospel to the world? I think not. Look to Paul; Our apostle chosen by Christ to preach the message of reconciliation between God and man. In Christ, Santiago
