<< Don't confuse public positions and PR with internal strategy. The industry is full of big players who downplay and pooh-pooh a technology direction right up to the moment when they announce their product in that space. It's about retaining customers and maintaining momentum. Products take a while to develop, and the marketing people can be out saying 'kill XXXX' while key developers are busy developing 'son of XXXX'. >> I would agree with that, but can you really stand up in court and go "Oh, we weren't serious when we said that. Now that it's convenient, here's the real truth." Seems like something you'd have a hard time convincing a jury of. Mike
