P.S. I have bought and sold WCOM several times. I am long WCOM - bought some today hoping to sell to a bigger fool.

There are an astounding 137 million shares short in WCOM. It's not clear to me how many of these are people long MCIC and wanting to cash in on the difference between the price of MCIC and the value of the associated WCOM stock. Probably more than I think but hear me out. I have often wondered what would drive people to short a stock that seems on course to soon dethrone big T as the nation's largest telecom provider.

I hope, if only for the sake of my faith in the human race, that P. T. is not typical of such investors.
