August 11, 1998 3:07 PM

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Legg Mason Wodd
Walker Inc. initiated coverage of WorldCom Inc. with a
"buy" rating and 12- to 18-month price target of $66,
said analyst Daniel Zito.

The brokerage firm has been covering WorldCom's
(WCOM) merger partner, MCI Communications Corp.
(MCIC). With that deal nearing completion, it was
appropriate to pick up coverage of WorldCom, Zito
said Tuesday.

In case you hadn't noticed , PTM, the stock market had a sharp decline today and WCOM suffered the same percentage drop as many other large caps. We should be back over $50 in a few days assuming no further sell off in the market place.

WCOM has done nothing illegal regarding the in process R&D charge.

Perhaps, but it does not have to be illegal to be detrimental to the shareholders' value.
