See could sell him for his organs. I hear they are doing pretty good on the black market.

Couldn't resist either

Ramsey, got your message and yea we all have jobs for the rest of this week. I was quite surprised the cc didn't discuss restructuring to align the workforce to expected revenue. Morgan did not sound as upbeat as usual, he indicated he was taken out of context at the Robertson-Stevens BOA analyst conference. The recent upswing in equipment stocks might have been attributed to him at that conference where it was implied that he felt DRAM supply and demand would come into balance mid '99. The cc sounded like he hopes balance will be reached by the end of '99, this doesn't sound good for the AMAT business. Layoffs are expected to be August 24, AMAT has a shutdown scheduled for the week of August 17-21, the 3000 number mentioned in the cc is probably right in the ballpark. Asia needs to recover before AMAT is going to have good profits and the stock starts flying again, I think we are 9-18 months from light at the end of the tunnel. Good Luck, I hope I am wrong and things improve much sooner but I doubt it.
