all the posts talking about quick doubles, etc.

I've noticed over the past couple years that the definitions of "short term", and "long term" have changed drastically.
It must be the instantaneous nature of the internet leading many to expect instant gratification.

Long term used to mean just that, LONG term. Real estate is long term. 10 years is long term. Buffett invests for the long term.

Now I see many considering 6 months long term, and short term is down to weeks, days, and even minutes.

I think 6 months is a pretty quick double, and will be delighted to see HDIE in high 7s by Halloween. [And I think I am being *very* conservative with that number!]

Andrew,

Yes....of course, we all have different goals.

If HDIE were simply a long term investment for me- a year and longer- I would not be holding nearly the number of shares I now have. Common sense would tell me that, given my goals and how I would ideally allocate my finances, this number of shares in a non-moving stock is not good, that if this were only a long term for me, 25% of what I hold would be more appropriate.

What has influenced the size of my position, accumulated since April, is my attention to the different rumors about how this stock will take off, first in May, then June, then in July, now maybe in August.....my attention to these rumors and the fact that I allow them to inform my decisions as a trader and investor.

So, my problem with HDIE is more with my own thinking than it is with the stock, the rumors, or the market, and this is where the responsibility for my portfolio properly belongs, my own thinking, and whether or not I am honestly comfortable with it in this instance..

There I go again! Thinking aloud on a thread....
