Also, how many bits do you think an order requires ? the up load speed is almost irrelevant i would guess. Limit buy of 1000 shares wxyz on ISLD at the bid must not require a whole lot of bandwidth.

Its the down load stream that is super critical.

You are correct spots, 56K, as it is termed today, only applies to download speed. Uploads are still limited to the 28.8/33.6 standard.

However, the difference in speeds on the minute amount of data that he would be sending by placing an order, or a request for some other data, would be so negligible as to be meaningless.

Higher speeds only have relevance in shortening download times, as that is where the bulk of data transfers, in large amounts, take place. Unless someone is a power uploader, it's a non-issue.
