trey,
your comment:loved the blurb about the koreans not being able to transition to DUV. if applied gets desperate enough they will write the financing<G>. additionally, the currency devals have given the asians a pretty good position.
Since it was such a long report, I spent the time to make sure things lined up for readability.
I agree with your comment, the report is wrong here on the DUV, now Samsung seems to have more of an issue funding the austin plant 2nd phase due to lack of money, since Intel wanted Samsung to split out its semi division and they did not, so the $1B went away(rumor), but heard where Hyundai had their Oregon plant financed last year before the crisis and is on track to complete next phase by Jan. Hyundai's Fabs in Korea are equipped for DUV now. I dont know why he didnt call them and be more accurate with his comments here.
Your comment on the (.25) for Aug, since pricing has really only gone up recently, it would not give MU enough time in the quarter to increase the average price sold by enough to make much of a difference to the bottom line. But notice Nov shows .20 profit. This is reasonable assuming pricing stays where it is. If MU is really building wafers using .21um and can get the yields up then looking forward could be very positive at earnings announcement.
It seems every qtr, everyone is disregarding the current data and basing their decision on buying the stock on projections 6-9 months out. Well, this seems to be the same senario this time. So, MU management may pull it off again.
What an insane stock to play.
I appreciate your feedback.
Good trading.
