Bombardier a great success story from government hand outs. How did they end up with the Canadian Aircraft industry? It wouldn't be Chretien and his pals? Nah! Couldn't be. Chretien even said a month ago that there "were no other aircraft manufacturors in Canada and that is why Bombardier got the contract" He landed in hot water on that one. I suppose you are too young too remember the 100 million dollars Desmarais was loaned to buy shares in Power Corp from the CDN gov't after the former directors who resigned in disgust had been told byt the Feds as well a the PQ that they would never get any private power contracts in Quebec. But that sure changed when Desmarais took charge. Build that share value! Hard work? Hard work getting Desmarais daughter marrying Chretien's son. That was tough to arrange that. And don't tell me Bombie did not steal stuff. You are talking to the wrong guy there. I lived next door to the people Bombardier stole the original skidoo patent off. They used to drive the original 1938 skidoo every day on the lake. And they sued Bombardier too. 20 people testified to the date of invention and it was open and shut but the (liberal)judge ignored the prior. NOW Bombardier backdates the date of their product launch and has this big phony story about tracked vehicles being the skidoo ancestor blah, blah.. And they stole a bunch of skidoo ideas off me too, namely polyethylene sliders and the mikuni carb which were suggestions I made to a local plumber/Bombardier spy who told me he wanted to modify his own skidoo. I even gave the name to their little skidoo, the Elan. Same crowd stole that off me too. (If you really want to know the needle valve speed adjustment/fuel metering idea was taken off the 1945 OK 75 8.1 HP Johnson outboard, one of which I used to own. The idea being to prevent freezing fuel jets.)

No, we are talking the scum of the birth here. Politics make the money anywhere. If you had friend in the liberal party from 1968 on you would never starve. If you declared you knew they were thieving scum as I did out of principal then you were on the outs big time.

Maybe Quebec does benefit from the federal system - isn't that what the ongoing debates are all about, trying to win the loyalty and commitment of a population?

No, it's a power struggle among elites in which charismatic nationalists and equally reckless federalists use language rights to allign people to their cause.

In short it's a lie, perpetrated by "the man," to keep the brother down!
