Two possible reasons for him to say that...

1. He's simply not impressed with the ability (or lack of ability) of the procedure to handle the tougher patients (i.e., those with higher diopters)...

2. He's not real excited about lots of people getting their eyes fixed, and not needing eye appointments with him as much...

Funny thing... I got my eyes fixed 5 years ago (was myopic 20/200, now 20/15), and I hardly EVER get the chance to give an eye doctor any of my $$...

Just a suggestion, please don't flame me! :-)

<HLTK, is currently in FDA phase 2 investigational studies.>

Pamela,

I think the reason your eye doctor friend gave you this response
is inherent in his reply to you. Above he says they are in phase
2 studies which is incorrect. To me the telltale sentence is below:

"I NEED MORE INFO ON THE COMPANY"

I too have run into eye doc's not familiar with the
SNRS procedure. Instead of admit their lack of knowledge,
they prefer to knock it. This is a common technique, even
with salespeople. If you go into a computer store and
ask the salesman about a new technology he does not
know, he will either: Not endorse it or if he is honest
will hold judgement until he finds out.

<I need more info on the company.>

Since you refer to him as your friend, why don't you follow the
links below, which provide excellent DD and report back to him.
If an eye doc was my friend, I would certainly not wan't him to
be in the embarassing position of not knowing about the newest
and most revolutionary procedure for hyperopia.
