Unapix Entertainment, Inc. (AMEX:UPX) has entered into an agreement with Dell Computer Corp. (NASDAQ:DELL) for its

Under the terms of the agreement, Dell has acquired the rights to package Unapix's popular Ultimate DVD Demo title with

<<100M cable TV households in China by 2000>>

Wouldn't wireless systems be the best choice considering the build cost? On the other hand they'll have no shortage of people to pull cable. So keeping them all employed might be the better choice.

I bring this up because several executives I've talked to say they don't want or need the latest technology because of the shear number of people in the work force. Newer more efficient processes would put people out of work. For instance I've been told no big buildings are built with steel in China...they use poured concrete and only go so many stories tall simply to keep people working. A large crane would take the jobs of a 1000 men.

One thing is for sure though...the people like the high tech entertainment via VCD. Funny how that conflicts with the states view.
