<<Why does David Letterman ridicule the President of the US or anyone else for that matter?>> Hummm, lets see, oh yes, I thought that Letterman, and the other light night talk show hosts were mainly comedians. I really think that BB deserves better than being classified as a comedian.

I think BB gives excellent advice, and has an outstanding track record. I am not anti Bob, I have a lot of respect for the man. I just raised the one question ... why ridicule those that are in the same business and make a mistake? Its certainly fair to discuss the pros and cons of the situation, but place labels on the person, why?

BINGO, Kirk.

Your assessment that Bob is an entertainer in addition to an educator is right on. Money Talk would truly be boring if all Bob would say is to DCA into the Wilshire 5000 every week.

This is actually why I listen so regularly. I love it. It's entertaining and at the same time you often learn something new. Bob has other motives besides educating his listeners. He has to keep up good ratings too. I truly believe that Bob loves the fact that this thread talks so much about him. Whether the subject matter is negative or positive is irrelevant to him. He's getting more and more attention as a result. This is good for the ratings. You know what they say, "bad press is better than no press".

Interestingly, I don't understand why some people get so uptight when someone points out one of Bob's SPINS. It's all in the entertainment. We should be laughing and enjoying it. ie: 'member when he said that UTEK was his single best idea...and that it was a FORMULA TRADE...and that the Asian crisis wouldn't have an impact on the chip-equipment group because if you were going to be competitive you had to buy the latest equipment...and that UTEK hardly had any exposure to Asia anyway, 'member...and then he said it was a 1999/2000 story, that was funny.

... or how about this... 'member when he sold NEW ASIA because he was getting tired of having to answer callers questions about the fund's lagging performance...and when the Asian crisis hit, he told everybody that he knew the crisis was coming, I loved that episode, he's the funniest.

...or better yet... 'member when he was trading INTC...and he was long and it went down, then he said he got out before it went down,...but then it went back up and he told people that he got back in before it went back up and that he got back in at the same price he got out...'member...and then INTC gapped down the next day on bad news so there was no way he could have gotten out in time and we never heard anything more about INTC. That was truly funny and entertaining.

Yes, Kirk, it's about time we acknowledge that Bob is a SPIN DOCTOR, an entertainer, an educator, and making money for his efforts. So the next time someone points out one of Bob's goofs, maybe we should just acknowledge the entertainment value of Bob's comments and stop trying to avoid admitting that he made a mistake.

Best Regards.

P.S. Bob's defenders often site Bob's mortality as a defense, but they never acknowledge his errors. In fact, they negate any possible errors to the end. I'm curious...if the defenders truly believe he is a mortal, what are some of the errors that he has committed in their respective opinions.
