>> like Jerry I have been waiting for the last rally when all the small cap crap stuff starts flying for the first time this year. That's normally how bull markets end with all the speculative crap rallying. Well it hasn't happened yet,<<

Didn't you witness the massive Internet rally? if that was not small cap crap rallying then I don't know what else would fit that defn? It is another thing that they rallied so much and their market caps are so much way out of proportion that some may no longer fit the defn of a small cap. The speculative stocks seem to have seen their day in the sun and a long summer it has been...

Also, it seems you are suggesting going short well-known large caps and yet you expect small caps to rally and then the serious market correction to arrive; this would imply that the crap stocks would be the last to go down in the correction (after the large caps), that would be a difficult condition to achieve because people will move their money to larger safe stocks first when they start seeing a problem as they probably have by now.

"That's normally how bull markets end with all the speculative crap rallying. Well it hasn't happened yet, so Jerry and I are on the outside looking in. "

So, you don't count the speculative frenzy in April/May that took KTEL to almost 40, CFON to 15 1/2, PNDA to 7, etc, etc, etc? If not, why not?

sc, I agree with your comments on GCTY, particularly how unfortunate it is that we can't short it now. Reading the GCTY thread, in just three days of trading we already have some of the symptoms seen in other good shorts. After the FTC news today, one poster said that it was really old news that was being hyped "to drive the stock down". If no one can short it, who would want to drive it down? 30 days from now, maybe. Besides, it was CNBC, ABC News and the company's own press release that I heard the news from. CNBC? Hyping bad news about an internut? Yeah. Another suggested that maybe YHOO would buy them out to counter Lycos' recent acquisitions. Nearly every poster there says, at some point in the post, that "it should gap up at the open tomorrow". It's getting to be rather entertaining. GCTY will be back to the offering price within days, IMO.
