<<with paid media advertising totaling over $100 million during the remainder of the calendar year.>>

That's a huge advertising budget! For a company that many are doubting can handle high production volume, they seem to be saying "bring it on!"

A lot of what goes into investing in a company like AAPL is trusting the people running the ship. I believe Jobs would not be launching such a massive media blitz if he didn't feel sure he could meet demand.

They know the pre-order numbers, and my sense is that the quote about having "tens of thousands of iMacs on store shelves" at launch takes into account the pre-orders. I'd hate to see a media-blitzed launch with no available machines except for those who preordered. Ouch.

JRK: Whew! Downgrade me to bear indeed! In re: the advert campaign, CNBC said that it will include the Superbowl commercial that was only aired once. And that AAPL is down fractionally in after hours trading because investors would be concerned about spending $100 million on advertising, but that the "buzz on the iMac has been VERY good." hehehehehehehe!
