To be sure none of these stocks are moving significantly up due to the Asian-Russian crisis and the present correction in the market.
I do not think that this has much to do with options expiration.
It does have something to do with uncertainty over the split.
Also, people are scaring themselves more easily.

Too many people want a quick killing. It would be better to moderate their expectations. If DELL comes in with earnings of .46 cents a share then DELL will have a fair value of about 110/share based on the P/E formulas in effect earlier this year. That really aint bad!

Nuts l;ike Zalesky are trying to scare the weak minded into dumping DELL and buying CPQ so he can make some money on his risky speculation (CPQ has no significant earnings). He is attempting exploiting the hysteria on this thread.

Zalesky is cheering madly over CPQ's failure to move and beating the drum roll for DELL's execution.
