Not that these are necessarily bad, it's just that you're not getting 3 years. Your getting a two-year extension (one of which was already covered by that gold Mastercard <G>). Remember, at the end of a year, your warrantee is on junk that's obsolete. NOBODY's obligated to upgrade anything under warranty, just replace the junk. What would a 3-year warranty on a 1-gig disk drive be worth today? Compare to two years ago. Whats its worth is a quick no cost repair to the user that results in minimal downtime and no expense...
