Mr. Bearded One,

<<<1. A monopoly.
2. Going to come out of the goverment lawsuit pretty much unscathed.

And these two statements don't seem a little contradictory to you?>>>

IBM did it.

<<<3. Coming out with NT5 next year.

Lots of people (Gartner Group, Aberdeen Group, others) are saying 2000, perhaps 2001 before a usable version.>>>

Since when has (Gartner Group, Aberdeen Group, others) been 100% correct all the time?

Thank You

JK

Just because they are a monopoly, it doesn't mean that the government will cause severe problems for them. I don't see anyone complaining about software prices. Microsoft's goal is to sell to every human being on the planet that can buy their software...repeatedly. Most companies have a similar goal but cannot execute. Right now I am perfectly content with Microsoft's place in the world (and I don't even own the stock...pity). I am a software developer. I specialize in Visual Basic. It's comforting to know that 90% of the world's PC's will be able to run any software that I write. It lets me do my job better, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
