RE: mail order computers,

I've just purchased a second computer from Micron, the best as far as service and support, imo. They support not just the hardware for as long as you own it, but the SOFTWARE they provide, for as long as you own it, including W98, etc. This to me was the clincher, as I have had to go through reinstalls of W95 a few times, and really needed their help with the driver installs, etc. I don't know any other company that provides this level of support, I know Dell doesn't. Their response to the software support, "after 90 days, you must go back to the manufacturer for support, or pay $39 per incident". Gateway was horrible with my Mom's computer. Didn't work out of the box, they had her take the cover off, on her hands and knees,"check this wire, that wire, oh we'll need tech support to come out" Then they come out and stick a new part in and leave, telling her to call the tech phone line to get it up and running again. I made her send it back for a refund and order a Micron. NO comparison.
