Wm: Those job ad's are for what I call "grunt" types of personnel. Grunts? Yup, the folks manning the production stations. This is the ad that signals how close they are, since you can hire designer types, admin. types, etc., waaay ahead of production, but when you get close you need the grunts on board. Question. What's the training ramp-up time necessary to get these new employees up to speed on the VLNC lines I wonder?

Anyway, thanks for the post!! It certainly seems to verify that VLNC is being played right now, probably in an attempt to build a nice "basket" of VLNC goodies to profit by, eh?

John~

Hiring data provides further proof of lies on Yahoo thread.

Some of the posters there claimed that the ads were placed by management in an attempt to defraud investors. However we now have the following information from quite a number of sources:

First read my previous post on hiring (#3571 reprinted below):

Number of employees in NI.

Acording to the Red Chip report released in January, they had 75 employees in NI at that time, up from 55 the year before. In the latest 10K, they say they have 86 employees of their Dutch subsidiary based in NI as of March 31.

Unfortunately, they don't usually reveal the number of employees in their 10Q reports, so unless this is released during a conference call , or IR will answer this question, we won't know more until the next 10K.

But all in all, the evidence supports hiring in Northern Ireland.

Fortunately the company gave us updated manpower numbers in the conference call. There are now currently 95 full-time employees in NI, plus some temps for a total of 114. This doesn't include the people Valence is moving from Henderson for the startup, and doesn't include the recent job openings advertised for in the Belfast paper.

They are ramping up manpower nicely for the impending continuous mass production of the NI plant.

The evidence is very clear here, in spite of the negative hypesters on the Yahoo thread. This is just one more case of outright factual lies by posters on that thread, including claims that insider selling has greatly exceeded insider buying since last fall (not true considering Dawson's insider purchases at over $5 per share), that Cal Reed and Masuda had sold all their shares before June (not true per the info in the 10K I posted yesterday), and the incredible claim that Carl Berg was the CEO of Seagate (Alan Shugart was the CEO of Seagate at the time). Again and again, on verifiable factual information, the posters there have posted lies.

Paul

My main guess (and I have more than one) is that some large shareholder (i.e., fund) is selling because of some preset criteria. That could have been that a contract be signed by a certain time period. When the conference call didn't offer such news, the decision was made to exit at this time, knowing that the stock would be driven lower but somewhat ameliorated by the positive context of the call. If and when a contract is announced, the entity could join back in at a time more consistent with their reward/risk criteria.

My next best guess is that I'm just a p*ss poor investor and will conjure up any excuse to not sell, and take my loss, and thereby prove my own ineptitude.
