Teen-speak - What they think.

Check this out JPR,intersting.

Excerpt.

The Western influence. Brain drain. The love of 'abroad'. You'd think that this generation, call it what you will-X, Y or Z, suffers from India-deficiency. And you'd be wrong! Teenagers talk about the ties that bind...

Here is one kid:

"Manish Jain is more vociferous, saying, "You have to love it-I mean I would. I don't want to be proud of the US or of Pakistan. I don't want to leave it just to earn some bucks in another country. I don't like all these IITians who use the country's resources and then vamoose. I want to be proud of my country-and I am."

Another:

". "I like India," says Rajneesh, "because it's different from all other countries-the way we dress, we talk, we behave with one another. It's all different. We have so much history." Vishek says, "I've been abroad. I can't say about the US but definitely about England and Europe, I can say that it's a very secluded life you lead. It's so nuclear. You think about yourself. Then maybe your family. That's it. People are not friendly. Everyone opens their laptop in the train and sits. There is hardly any interaction." Archana agrees, "Ya, abroad people tend to think only about themselves."

Now the bad:

"I hate the constantly changing governments,'' says Manish, "the lack of sound policies, the negative approach we have towards democracy, and how loopholes are used for selfish purposes. For Archana the problems are "people hanging about on streets and the garbage all over the place", while for Rajneesh, "It's pollution and overpopulation."
