Paul, here's a good article for all those who keep claiming that Intel gave up socket7 just to lock out the competition. It's about GTL+, a major component of Socket8/Slot1/Slot2. Intel saw the future and designed this in long before others had a clue as to what the benifits would be.

Whatever.
Let me ask you this. If Intel had kept the socket seven PentiumMMX what speed do you think they would be shipping now?
It appears that the PentiumMMXs are still in great demand based on some of the prices I see. Could Intel not be producing chips that a lot of people want? Hummm.
