Well, I've been an ardent supporter and defender of Clinton from the start.

But even I gotta say, he's dug himself a pretty deep hole this time.

Its not what he did, and its not even what he did afterwards in court. I think Clinton's lawyers pretty much have the perjury rap licked having gotten the definition of "sexual affair" narrowed for the scope of that trial.

But if, and this may be presumptuous, but if, Clinton does admit to this affair, then what he did which is really going to be unforgivable and problematic was having gone onto PBS and told a lie directly to the American people.

Monday is going to be very interesting.

Its looking like Clinton is going to have to make the defining speech of his political career. I cannot imagine he is getting much sleep this weekend.

Bad judgement, yes, people will be quick to forgive and forget. Courtroom maneuvers, people will be able to forgive and forget.

But those two lines... "I did not have a sexual affair with that woman", "I did not have improper relations with that woman".

I just think we are going to have a chrisis of confidency, if he admits to this relationship.

This seems like Clinton's first clear no-win situation.

Again, I would suggest that we are going to have a truly interesting speech... historical... and defining. Markets will stop trading. Stocks will see huge dips in anticipation.

He should be studying the Jimmy Swaggart tape, or calling upon Barry Scheck for advise, if you ask me.

<<THAT WONDERFULLY ACCURATE ACCOUNT OF HOW TERRIBLY SMALL-MINDED AND SELFISH PEOPLE LIKE BILL VAUGHN, LES HORRORWITZ, DARRELL YOUNGBLOOD AND PEOPLE OF LIKE MIND TRULY ARE. >>

No matter how you try to rationalize your position, your above comment overshadows any objective commentary you offer. Just because one disagrees with you, it doesn't mean you know him to be a scurrilous person.

Typically liberal. When the facts go against you, it's time to attack the integrity of the messenger.

You need to go back and review Clinton's performance in office since
1993. He was a laughingstock the first three years. Foreign leaders were ignoring him as he tried to lecture them (which is a bad habit of his and Hillary's) on the "correct" action on various matters. He brought in outsiders in to run his office and advise him. He rode the coattails of an economy that revived in late 1992 in the aftermath of the S&L Bailout. He has no accomplishments to date. You also need to review the various scandals of his administrations and pre-administration. I suggest you visit the PBS site for starters.
